As her father guided the horse down the aisle, Marjolein’s face was fixed on that of Aaron. This was it. The moment in time when they were two, but became one. At this stunning Brant County horse farm wedding, Aaron and Marjolein became Mr. and Mrs. Droogers.
IN THE COUNTRY
Have we ever told you how much we love local weddings? It’s not just because our travel time is less. It has much more to do with loving the area we live in and the gorgeous scenery that we get to enjoy every day. We’ll miss it when we leave, but we hear good things about New Brunswick. What we love even more than a local wedding, is a wedding filled with love. Stuffed to the brim with all the meaningful relationships. And that was the epitome of Marjolein and Aaron’s big day.
A MEANINGFUL DAY
This Brant County horse farm wedding was everything that they had wanted and more. They had the wonderful privilege to be able to get ready with all their loved ones. The love in the bride’s getting ready suite was palpable and with it came tears of joy and wonderful moments of laughter. The simple details that made their wedding day all about them were the perfect addition to this rustic wedding.
At Aaron’s getting ready location, things were just as gezellig (you’ll need to look up the definition for this one, it’s a Dutch word that describes It perfectly), and maybe a little more organized. From western boots to bowies and suspenders, it was all country and perfectly Marjolein and Aaron.
We know that we just shared THEIR ENGAGEMENT SESSION, but we cannot help but mention a few things about their story once again. Aaron started his faith journey a little before he met Marjolein. What we didn’t know, but found out about the pastor is that he has become one of Aaron’s best friends. Without Pastor Sim, Aaron might not be where he is today. While the Pastor was not involved with connected this bride and groom, he was made aware of this wonderful relationship quite quickly, and then much more changed.
We cherished the stories that were shared later in the evening. Stories about how Aaron went from a boy talking about Fords to a man infatuated by his new wife and his relationship with her in Christ became his main focus. Tales from friends and family alike. It often hits us at this point that we might have thought that we know the couple, but it’s at this point that we really understand them. And that’s usually when Dianne’s tears start flowing as well.
A MARRIAGE IN CHRIST
Marjolein and Aaron made this day more than just a wedding. It was about starting their lives together. A completely new chapter, if not a new book. From small touches like a letter written by Marjolein to Aaron to an intimate foot-washing ceremony following Jesus’ example, this has to be one of the most meaningful wedding days we’ve captured. We are always honoured for this privilege, but to be part of those moments on this day was more than an honour. There must be a word that describes this Brant County horse farm wedding, but we haven’t been able to find it yet.
Marjolein and Aaron, to say that we have loved getting the two of you is an understatement. We cherish you in our hearts, and are just beyond grateful that we were put together. From a chance meeting in a grocery store parking lot, to a wonderful visit at our home. You chose us to capture these memories, and our hearts just fill with gratitude for God’s hand in that. We wish you His blessing on your marriage, as you continue to grow and love each other more and more every day.
