Her eyes glistened with mischievous intent, and her arms went up. She twirled around and around until she lost her balance and collapsed in a bunch of giggles. Her mom and I couldn’t help but laugh. The residue of the sprinkles on her cheeks was the perfect touch. The sugar-filled donut likely added to her energy level, but that only made this girl birthday session more fun.
She demanded to have her jacket on once again, and proudly looked at her silver shoes. This little girl’s world is so full of joy, and it was totally contagious! Lauryn is the first baby that I have been able to capture with my camera her whole life, and I’m very honoured. Now that she’s two, I think it’s safe to say that she is no longer a baby. She loves to run and jump. She runs to her Mama and gives her a great big hug, “I love you, Mommy!”
What do I love about photographing little girls? I mean, what is there not to love about it? Those little details; her hands, her pearl necklace, and those gorgeous brown eyes! When she dug into her donut, she made sure to catch every sprinkle that was tempted to fall on the floor. She finished every last bite, and after her hands and face were washed, there was still a hint of the stains that the sprinkles left around her mouth. Everything about this session was happy, and I hope it makes you smile!
See this little girl’s 6-month session HERE.
She’s just so excited about that donut!
This little girl turned one year old!!! I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I did her newborn session, and a full 6 months since her Sitter Session (SEE HERE, you’ll love it!!!), even though she wasn’t quite sitting. Lauryn is such a little sweet heart, she was actually the best little one I’ve ever had to do an indoor session with! After a little while, she got tired of having the camera in her face. For being tired, however, she did great!
That smile, though, isn’t that just everything? Her mom says she is such an easy baby and her big brother and twin sisters just adore her to pieces. I can’t imagine what trouble they will get into when she gets a little older!
I just adored her smiles, but these more thoughtful looks also melted my heart! Loving the looks they give me when they’re wondering what on earth I am doing…
You can just guess where here Mama was, and you might also guess that she was about to get a little snack… you’re probably right!
This look just says it all… a mischievous grin while she tries to grab the camera. Hey, if I were her, I’d probably do the same thing!
Honestly, those eyelashes…
I cannot believe this concludes my year with Lauryn! I really hope that I have the chance to capture her again in the future. Her family are just an amazing bunch of people, filled with so much love. I just love the fact that I can connect with Lauryn’s mom on so many things, it’s great to have a coffee with clients and feel like we’re friends!
Kelli and Andrew, you’ve been blessed with some beautiful children. I can see how much you love them, and how much they love you! I really hope and pray that you will continue on this path as great parents to your kids. With the Lord’s help you will be able to handle whatever comes your way.
I’m so excited to share this session with you! Meet my adorable niece, Keira. For those of you who have followed the blog for a while, you may remember her newborn session. (With the new site, I’ve lost that post, sadly.) This little missy was so long and slim when she was first born, but she has definitely filled out and at the time of this sitter session is the size of my almost 18 month old preemie! Incredible how fast the time goes. Keira is a little sister to Tyson, and he is quite smitten with her, as long as she’s not being “dramatic” (his words, not mine). Keira gets around very quickly, and we had to be super fast, but won’t you agree that it was worth it? Keira eats just about anything, loves teddy bears, and definitely still needs two naps a day.
I promise you, the first half of the images you see, were taken in the first 3 minutes, the rest took a lot longer! She warmed up quickly and wanted to set out to explore.
Here she goes again… This little sitter was a mover!
That smile, though! I’m betting she’s got mommy wrapped around her little finger…
And then there was the genius idea of putting her inside the Pepsi crate, it was kind of cool, until she realized that she couldn’t go anywhere! Out came the Cheddar crackers, and they seemed to help a little bit.
I loved this little missy’s outfit, such a nice cheery outfit in these dark days (even though it was so nice out today).
She’s got the longest, sweetest eyelashes that you’ve ever seen! Melts my heart!
I forgot how difficult it was to get a shot of two littles, looking at me, somewhat happy at the same time, and in focus!
Oh, you little monkey-man! I’m sure you’re going to grow up to be a big helper at your daddy’s butcher shop!
My heart is full. Absolutely brimming! I am so thankful to God that He has given me this gift to capture these beautiful tender moments, and that He has given us this beautiful girl. Not a day goes by that I don’t realize what an absolutely joy and miracle she is and what meaning she has brought to my life. Just over a year ago we were able to bring her home after a long bed rest and NICU stay. For a girl who wasn’t supposed to survive, she is doing absolutely amazing. Now I am going to try to just let you enjoy these images, this has been a dream of mine for so long, I can’t believe it came true!! I would absolutely love your feedback on these!
This delicious cake was made by the wonderful Flour Design Wedding Cakes. It was so adorable and tasted even better than it looked! Stella definitely approved.
Mama, just let me dig in already! I don’t think she knew how yummy it was, because believe me, if she had, there would be a lot more images like the one on the left!
Baby feet are my weakness! Just love these little toes.
And these fingers…
After a bit it became apparent that she had enough cake and just wanted to see how far she could fling it. It was too fun to watch!
Time for a bath!
I can’t wait to capture more of these sessions, kids are so beautiful to watch when they are so busy in their little minds! On behalf of my family and I, a big thank you to all our friends and family and clients for caring so much about this little one, your kindness will never be forgotten!
I had the privilege of capturing another milestone in the life of this little munchkin… she’s 6 months! Where does the time go? She has already popped 2 little teeth, and is using them, her mama tells me… I took this little one to my favorite location, and though she looked so little amid the tall weeds, she outshone them all! What a beauty God’s creation is, those gorgeous goldenrods, the sky stretched wide, that sun warming the earth with all it’s glory, and amid all of that… a beautiful little baby girl! She was very interested in the gravel all around, those little ones pop everything in their mouth, don’t they? Anyway, I’ll leave you to enjoy these beautiful images! I hope you enjoy this (likely) last bout of beautiful summer weather we’re having, the cool, crisp mornings are right around the corner!
One of my first repeat clients; the mother of these beautiful kids happened to run into me at our kids’ field day (activity day at school) and mentioned she was interested in doing another session with me. I was so excited to hear this! It’s always so nice to know that families trust you to capture their children year after year! These kids are just adorable, and were excited for an hour of play. Peek-a-boo, chasing, and doing some exploring was all part of the fun. Clients like this make the time fly by, and I’m always sad to see them go. I hope to see you all again next year!
